THE TRAUMA ACADEMY NORTHWEST STAFF AND PROVIDERS

Abe Reichlin, LCSW
Founder, Executive Director
Facilitator, Co-Developer, and Therapist
Executive Team

Abe founded The Trauma Academy Northwest, LLC to provide trauma-based training and consultation to child/adolescent-centered nonprofit organizations and educators due to the dichotomous position they hold: receiving the least amount of relevant training while serving the most developmentally harmed and emotionally needy children and adolescents.  Having been clinically trained in social work, and having worked with children and families in outpatient, crisis, respite, day treatment, and in-home settings, Abe brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into the training & consultation and outpatient therapy programs.  Abe oversees all aspects of The Trauma Academy Northwest, LLC.

Sarah (1).jpeg
Sarah Archer, LPC
Intern Program Director
Chief Operations Officer

Therapist
Executive Team

After living several places across the country and the world, I now reside in Salem, Oregon, with my husband and three dogs. When I'm not at work, I enjoy staying in, drinking locally sourced coffee, and reading a good book or enjoying a good tv show.

If you feel like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, or that your traumatic experiences are stealing the color from life, or that you just don't know how to function anymore, I would like to extend a warm invitation to work with me.

At the core of my beliefs is that healing is for everyone and therapy is for anyone. No matter where you find yourself, be it at rock bottom, in a dark place, or simply in need of someone to talk to – and really listen – therapy could be beneficial for you. I hope to see all my clients find a place where a journey towards real healing can begin. I want to help you build a bridge between your mind and body in that journey of healing in order to (re)connect with your most authentic self. I work from an eclectic approach with a client-centered focus on somatic healing with polyvagal theory, self-compassion, narrative therapy, and EMDR.

I work with all genders and many ages with a focus on women between 17-45, struggling with adulting, anxiety and depression, relationship hardships, self-esteem, and traumatic experiences. I understand that asking for help can be a hard first step, so I offer a free consultation so that you can decide if you'd like to work together.

Ami Korsunsky, LPC
Therapist

My name is Ami Korsunsky, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University. I also have a master’s degree in teaching (MAT) from Willamette University, with eighteen years of bilingual (Spanish-
English) teaching. As a counselor working with children, I help parents find solutions to the hardships that they experience; for example, when children don't listen to them or get into trouble at school with their peers and/or teachers. Such experiences may cause parents to
doubt their parenting ability, creating a feeling of failure and shame. As a child counselor, I understand that children sometimes "act up" during difficult life transitions, like a divorce, parental incarceration, foster care, financial stress, moving to a new home or school, or the loss
of a loved one. If you and/or your child need help, please don't wait any longer, now is the time to start working towards your goal!

As a play therapist, my role is to provide children and their parents with the tools needed to recognize, name and self-regulate emotions and behaviors in a positive way. Play therapy is
uniquely suited to meet the needs of children and their families, because young children have not yet developed the language to express abstract concepts such as anger, fear, sadness, or anxious feelings. Because I am bilingual, I can provide counseling services in both Spanish and
English. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, cooking, reading, and going for walks with people and dogs.

Scott Kobold, MA, QMHP
Therapist

Scott Kobold grew up in Montana's capital, Helena, before proudly serving in the United States Navy. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Montana, he worked as a marketing consultant for over a decade, but ultimately found that career path to be unfulfilling.

Scott yearned to help others on a more profound level, and so after graduating with his Master of Arts in Psychology degree from the University of Massachusetts, becoming a mental health therapist was far and away his primary goal.

As a therapist, Scott’s holistic approach takes into account and addresses any factors that can affect our emotional health- relationships, significant life events, family dynamics, your worldview, chronic pain, nutrition, physical activity, and quality of sleep.

Operating from a place of compassion, his role is to gain a thorough understanding of your unique experience, how it's impacted you, and introduce you to methods that can alleviate harmful thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and symptoms so you can live the life you envision.

Scott also does watercolor paintings, shoots photography, plays the drums, and is a musicophile of the highest order. Scott and his wife Amanda have a baby daughter named Mia, and traveling with them and his family is when he's happiest.

Sarah Lowe, Professional Counselor Associate
Therapist

Hello, I am happy you are here.

My name is Sarah Lowe, I am currently a Professional Counselor Associate licensed through the Oregon board. I am also a QMHP.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Superior with my Master of Science in Education Clinical Mental Health in December of 2023.My first career was in teaching. Through that experience I developed a strong empathy for students who experienced mental health challenges. That led me to graduate school to become a therapist to honor my passion for helping individuals through their mental health struggles and guiding them to the path of wellness. I provide non-judgmental, supportive counseling to individual adolescents ages 15 and up, and adults who might be experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, difficulty with life transitions, stress, and trauma.

We all experience both tranquility and turmoil throughout our lives at different times. As we grow and learn through these experiences, reaching out for help is a powerful thing that can help you regain control of your life at a time when you might feel lost. With my compassion, active listening skills, and empathetic approach to counseling my goal is that I can help guide you to regain that control.

I was born and raised in the Midwest, I moved to Oregon in 2022 chasing the mountains, coast and beautiful nature that surrounds us here. When I am not spending time at work walking alongside clients on their mental health journey, I am typically doing something active in nature with my husband and our two pups. I strongly believe in a healthy work life balance so that I can ensure I am 100% present with my clients during work hours and 100% present at home with my family during my personal time.

I would love to talk and see if we could be a good fit for each other. Please reach out with any questions or to set up an intake session!
